Green Health & Integrative Medicine
Integrative Medicine is a rapidly growing industry that is still in its relatively early growth stage. The industry has a very long lifecycle. Afri Grow is targeting a number of nutraceutical products and companies that we believe will positively transform the medicinal and pharmaceutical industries. The importance of nutraceuticals is expanding globally in terms of scientific services, legal aspects, and marketing strategies for health promotion, reduction of disease, and health care costs.
The benefits and uptake of nutraceuticals have been influenced by Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, where unique endemic flora, compromised genetic resources for potential sources of nutraceuticals,
habitual consumption of probiotics, and the wisdom of ethnopharmacology have been introduced over centuries. So, while the concept is not new, the range of applications and ‘marrying’ of western medicine with more traditional/indigenous medicinal products are offering an ideal opportunity to treat both existing and new diseases affecting humanity.

Key skills include: Institutional Banking, M&A, Corporate Finance, Strategic Think Tank Solutions, Agricultural Evaluation/Good (Green) Earth Solutions, Mining and Natural Resources and Risk Evaluation for start-ups to multi-national institutional companies. He has a Ph.D. in the areas of Financial Evaluation and Spatial Statistics. Grant has over 25 years work experience, having worked for large, multi-national corporate institutions, small start-up companies, a risk consultancy and a top-tiered bank.
Basson Piek
COO and founder of Afri Grow (PTY LTD
Key skills include: management, business rescue, business planning, logistic management, high level team management, strategic direction and management of complex structures. Basson has a MBA with extensive experience in the natural cosmetic industry as a CEO. Basson has expertise in evaluating a business and if needed be compiling a rescue structure for business in dire straits.

Johan has more than 30 years’ experience working as a Strategic Business Builder and Funding Facilitator assisting entrepreneurs to develop their businesses. He also worked for a development bank in Southern Africa as their senior specialist and assignment leader to develop funding solutions and policy structures for clients.

She has served on the following Board Committees, Audit & Risk (ARC) , Human Resource (HRC), Social, Ethics and Transformation (SETC) and served as Chairperson of two Public Sector Boards / Councils.Her experience spans across the following sectors, Financial, Information Communications and Technology (ICT), Hospitality and Tourism, Arts and Culture , Government and Non-Profit.
Princess Celenhle holds a Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship & New Venture Creation from Wits University, South Africa and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Bennett College, USA.
